New York Vibes: Fewer Products, Better Skin?

I've just been on a fantastic inspiration trip to New York and I have to say, I'm on an impression high! Sephora, which is always a go-to, really surprised me this time. Not only with their huge selection, but also with their new philosophy: no products with undocumented ingredients. This is in line with the global movement towards more transparent and cleaner beauty products that we're seeing increasingly among consumers. It's a trend that we in Denmark could embrace to a greater extent.
For example, several big brands like The Ordinary and Drunk Elephant made it their mission to be completely transparent about their ingredients and their effects. This approach is shaking up the entire industry, and it's really positive that big chains like Sephora are following suit by ensuring that every product they carry is well-researched and well-documented. It gives both us as consumers and us as brands a more credible foundation to work from.
But the most interesting part of the trip was a trend that really caught my attention. More and more big brands are working towards reducing the number of products we use in our routines. So where we've looked up to the Korean 12-step routine for years, they're going in the opposite direction - one cream for body, hands and face.
During my trip, I actually bought a balm from Christian Dior that they recommend for face, lips, body, hands and feet. The balm is part of the new wave of multifunctional products that are designed to help us keep our routines simple and manageable. I was immediately drawn to the idea of one product for everything, but at the same time I'm sceptical. Why are you sceptical? Because we are increasingly seeing sensitive skin, allergies and eczema, especially in young people. Something that my generation has never experienced to the same extent. I hypothesise that this is a result of the foods we consume and the environmental influences that are now making their way onto the skin. Several studies suggest that environmental factors such as air pollution and chemicals in everyday products can aggravate skin problems NIAID.
And as you know, I'm a big fan of limiting the amount of products. I don't think an everyday routine should last 45 minutes. We simply don't have time for that nowadays - our lives are too busy. I've always strived to create products that can be easily integrated into everyday life but still deliver results.
A good example is Lantz Copenhagen's own range of light pens and facemists, designed to complement a simple skincare routine. Our new Facemists, which launches in November 2024, is designed to moisturise and nourish the skin in seconds and is specifically developed to work with light therapy. Instead of having to use multiple creams and serums every day, you can enhance the effects of your products with light therapy or a moisturising mist that penetrates quickly and gives your skin a moisture boost in seconds. There's no doubt that sheet masks and other targeted masks can provide the extra boost your skin needs without requiring a lot of different products. See our range of light therapy products.
For example, our 24K Gold Eye Masks or the new glass masks are perfect examples of how you can add intense care to your skin when you need it, but without having to give up the simplicity of everyday life. You can combine these masks with light therapy to maximise results without having to use a multitude of products every day. With LED technologywith which I have extensive experience, we can go even further in optimising our skincare - and this combination holds great potential for the simple yet effective solutions of the future.
I see it as an opportunity to give your skin that extra something, but in a way that doesn't require a lot of products and hours in front of the mirror. It's a balance between fewer but more effective products and advanced technology like light therapy that can take your skincare to the next level. It will be incredibly exciting to see how this movement will develop and where it will take us.
And let me say that I've found so much inspiration in the products I've discovered along the way, and I look forward to sharing much more with you soon!
