The skin around and under the eye is thinner and more sensitive than anywhere else on the body. If your eyes are overworked or if you are tired and fatigued, your blood vessels under the skin dilate and become more visible through the thin skin. This creates dark circles or bags under the eyes. We are so proud to offer you this simple treatment. The light glasses reduce dark circles and bags under the eyes with just 3-9 minutes of treatment every day. Furthermore, they increase collagen production, so the skin around the eyes is improved and more elastic. This has the positive effect of minimising lines and wrinkles.
Dry skin comes in many forms and, if very dry, can resemble sensitive skin because the skin's barrier is weakened. Dry skin often lacks moisture in the form of both water and oil and can also tend to redden a lot. This means that the skin loses its lipids and the moisture between the cells that keeps the skin's protective layer intact. Without this protective layer, the skin is not protected from bacteria and irritants - or from evaporation of the moisture content from within.
Dry skin is the precursor to sensitive skin.
Anti-ageing as a concept refers to an attempt to combat skin ageing. For some, the skin ageing process can begin as early as the 20s, so anti-ageing creams are not just for mature skin. As a general assumption, it makes sense to start using anti-wrinkle serums and creams in your 30s and 40s at the latest, especially if your skin is exposed to a lot of sun.
Wrinkles come naturally with age. It cannot be avoided. What we can do is try to minimise the skin's ageing process and maintain the skin's elasticity. Lantz CPH does this successfully with a combination of effective lightweight serums, good active creams, consistent focus on giving an extra boost with face masks and light therapy.
If the skin's natural colour, melanin, starts to clump together, it shows up as dark spots on the skin's surface, giving the skin a scaly and uneven appearance - what we often call pigment spots. They are typically seen on the face, hands, chest, shoulders and arms.
In general, hyperpigmentation is divided into 3 different categories; Melasma, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and sun damage.
What is mature skin?
Wrinkles, changes in pigmentation and reduced skin firmness are classic signs of skin ageing. This is what we typically call mature skin. To some extent, skin ageing is inevitable, but the extent can be both genetic and caused by environmental or lifestyle influences. Around the age of 45-50, you'll start to notice a change in your skin as the cells start to age and become slower to produce new cells.
Rosacea is a chronic inflammation of the skin on the face. The disease starts with redness in the centre of the face and a feeling of stinging and tingling in the skin. On the cheeks, forehead and nose, the skin becomes slightly thickened with small dilated blood vessels. Bumps and pimples are part of the disease.
When the skin reddens, it's because there is hyperreactivity or overactivity in the skin's blood vessels. The blood vessels dilate rapidly and this is what causes redness in the top layer of the skin. This is called a flare-up. Flare-ups occur suddenly, due to various factors.
Oily skin is caused by an overproduction of sebum. It is often characterised by the forehead, nose and chin (T-zone) or the entire face becoming shiny during the day. In addition, oily skin often has impurities and blockages, which can result in pimples and blackheads.
Combination skin is characterised by: Constant or intermittent oily skin in the T-zone, which is the forehead, nose and chin. Normal or dry skin on the rest of the face. Tendency towards both blemished and sensitive skin.
At puberty, both genders experience an increase in the level of sex hormones in the blood, such as the male sex hormone testosterone, which is converted by enzymes in the sebaceous glands into a more active hormone that enlarges the sebaceous glands and increases sebum production. The sebaceous glands become clogged with dead skin cells, resulting in blackheads.
Tip
That it actually matters how you apply your serums and creams, or for that matter move your light therapy machines.
Take a look at the drawing. Then think about how you apply your serum and cream. ALWAYS remember to apply it in an upward direction. Always stimulate the skin in the direction we want it, and one thing is for sure! We don't want it to land south.
